The Best Cat Food

Amazon Cat Food Reviews

Great Stuff! - October 20, 2009
This review is from: Tiki Cat Hawaiian Grill - Ahi Tuna

I have a pretty picky cat, but she loves this cat food. I love it too because it's in small cans, so the leftovers don't sit in the fridge for more than a day. No off flavors or smells get a chance to develop. My cat absolutely hates the pre-formed chunks, shreds, etc. She only likes natural fish flakes, and that's what this product provides. The only thing similar is Trader Joe's 100% tuna. It's a great buy, but you need to live near a Trader Joe's, and the cans are larger. So sometimes I'd have to throw out the leftover food because it didn't get eaten fast enough. A local pet store carried the Tiki Cat Ahi Tuna, so I was able to purchase it there. Sadly, they've stopped carrying it, but I'm happy to have found an internet source.

Their Favorite - July 22, 2011
This review is from: Tiki Cat Hawaiian Grill - Ahi Tuna

This is my cats favorite of all the Tiki Cat flavors. I've tried the variety pack, and they really dislike the sardines. They eat around the prawns in the Tuna with Prawns. I splurged on the Salmon, and they turn their noses up at it, eating it if it is their only option. Same with the chicken and the ones with rice or consomme (noodles). To vary their diet, I've now discovered Natural Balance Venison Green Pea Formula Cat Food (Pack of 24 6-Ounce Cans), which they also like. I have one shorthair/Siamese mix and one Himalayan.

ALL my cats love this product. I'm glad I am able to purchase it online as it is not longer available locally through pet stores. Thanks so much.

Kitty's happy - I'm happy - January 27, 2010
This review is from: Tiki Cat Hawaiian Grill - Ahi Tuna

Alternative pet food causes less digestive stress in my animals, so I try aggressively to only feed them non-conventional products. My cat is relatively finicky and he's quite pleased with almost all Tiki Cat flavors.

My cats LOVE Tiki Cat! - November 4, 2009
This review is from: Tiki Cat Hawaiian Grill - Ahi Tuna

We were looking for wholesome healthy canned cat food and went to our local natural pet food store and they recommended Tiki Cat (that and Weruva are their most popular, they said). My two cats were very picky before but they love all the Tiki Cat flavors! Even the stray outside that we feed loves it!

Shipped Fast! - March 17, 2010
This review is from: Tiki Cat Hawaiian Grill - Ahi Tuna

This case of cat food arrived fast! Was very pleased with the company, and included some samples of new Temptations (cat treats). Temptations are the only treats my cats will eat. As for the cat food itself, 3 of the cats ate it, but my finicky eater didn't. Smells like freshly opened can of tuna.

Customer Reviews

My cats love the Hawaiian Grill (ahi tuna) - and I like the fact that it's wild-caught, human grade seafood.

Petropics makes Tiki Cat. I found out about it from my new neighborhood pet store. My cat would eat anything till he got cancer; I was really glad to find something that 1.) he liked and 2.) wasn’t full of junk.

I was trying to find a high quality food for my very food sensitive cat that did not contain any red flag ingredients like carageenan and I started her today on your Ahi Tuna flavor. It was her first time getting tuna and she liked it but I will be trying other flavors including the chicken ones which is what she is used to.

We have a sick cat at home with IBD and possible intestinal cancer. This is the ONLY food she will eat. Thank you for making such a wonderful product. We are in the process of switching all of our cats over to Tiki Cat. She especially loves the chicken flavored ones! It is so good to see her excited about food again!! :) Thank you!!

Cat Food Diet

Whole Foods Role in Prevention and Treatment

When evaluating the health of any person or animal, the first thing we should evaluate is our eating habits. Our bodies depend on adequate nutrition in order to sustain health and longevity. Most illnesses can be traced back to nutrition, exposure to poisons/contaminants, or genetic disorders. Ideally we want to ensure natural, high quality, highly digestible whole food nutrition, avoiding exposure to poisons and contaminants. We should be aware of any potential genetic or hereditary health risks, taking necessary precautions where possible.

When treating illnesses, there are a handful of common dietary restrictions identified that will reduce the risk of disease or assist in the recovery from these illnesses. All special dietary requirements call for high quality, highly digestible proteins and fats. In addition, they call for moderation of certain vitamins and minerals. Traditional commercial moist and dry foods do not provide optimum quality proteins and fats closest to their natural state and they are inherently high in ingredients under restrictive dietary treatment guidelines. When we consume too much of any vitamin or mineral, we will create a strain on our excretory and digestive system, which will eventually spell disaster.

Five Keys to Special Diets

  1. Low Sodium & Iodine
  2. Low Magnesium
  3. Low Phosphate
  4. Low Carbohydrates
  5. Low Glycemic Index
When we formulated our foods for cats and dogs, we developed them under a “No Compromise Food Philosophy” which has become signature of our Tiki Cat and Tiki Dog foods. We wanted to provide human-grade, all-natural whole food nutrition, deriving as much natural real food nutrition from our whole food sources as possible, adding only what is necessary from a vitamin and mineral supplementation program established under AAFCO guidelines for Adult Maintenance. Most importantly, we wanted to provide food with integrity that we could eat ourselves.

Applying a simple, common sense approach to our formulations has naturally lent itself to the prevention and treatment of many cats and dogs with wellness issues. We work with Veterinarians across the country to treat a myriad of wellness issues and this has become our specialty in the marketplace.
